Census Area Explorer is provided as-is, without warranty. The scores it produces are only as meaningful as the formula you give it; they are a tool for comparison, not advice.

The underlying data is England & Wales 2021 Census statistics from the Office for National Statistics, England school data from the Department for Education, and England affordable-housing statistics from the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government, all licensed under the Open Government Licence v3.0, on boundary geometry from Ordnance Survey (© Crown copyright and database right). Your use of maps built here is subject to those licences.

You are responsible for the maps you create and publish. Do not publish content that is unlawful, or that misrepresents the data as something other than a weighted score you defined.

We may change or withdraw the service, and these terms, at any time. Continued use after a change means you accept the revised terms.
